Amanda Morguelan Amanda's Journey

First post: Feb 13, 2016 Latest post: Dec 29, 2016
Welcome to Amanda's CaringBridge site. We've created it to keep friends and family updated. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement during this time when it matters most. Amanda is a loving daughter and sister to Barb and Brittany. On December 23, 2015, Amanda had an acute onset of a severe headache and was found unconscious. She was rushed to the ER where a massive brain bleed was found. The bleed was suspected to have been caused by an arteriovenous malformation (AVM) in her parietel/occipital lobe. Amanda overcame all odds and after a week and half she was discharged home and thriving. Then, on Thursday, February 18, 2016, Amanda began to have balance/coordination issues, worsening vision and headache. She was again taken to ER. The CT showed no re-bleeding, but the MRI scan revealed a possible tumor in the same location as the bleed. Amanda underwent her second craniotomy the next morning for a biopsy of the tumor and resection. To our devastation, Amanda has a glioblastoma grade IV (a cancerous tumor in her brain.)  This website is updated by Amanda's sister, Brittany, to inform Amanda 's friends and family on her condition, treatment, and healing. Those who wish to contribute financially should make a check payable to the Amanda Morguelan Donation Account at any JP Morgan Chase Bank. Thank you for your love and support!
