Welcome to our CaringBridge site. We've created it to keep friends and family updated. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement during this time when it matters most.
At 10 weeks pregnant,  Amanda and her husband Justin went to the doctor to take a blood test that would tell them the gender of their second precious child.  A couple of weeks later when the results had come back, unfortunately, the doctor had bad news.  She said the test results indicated that they were having a baby boy, but that there were abnormalities the test was picking up.  She explained that it was either one of two things.  The doctor said "Either the fetus is deformed to the point where it is not able to sustain life and has stopped growing, or this sometimes indicates a cancer in the mother." They went to an emergency ultrasound the next day, and to their excitement, everything looked perfectly healthy with the baby! The doctor then turned her attention to Amanda.  When an enlarged lymph node was found in her neck, an ENT performed a biopsy, just to be safe. They got the results back a week later, and a second biopsy confirmed on January 18th, the unexpected and shocking news that Amanda has Hodgkin's Lymphoma. At just 25 years old, she has quite a battle ahead of her.  I know that she, her husband Justin, and their two-year-old son Jackson would so appreciate your prayers.
