Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. As you may know, Al Mampre was admitted into the hospital last Tuesday due to extreme fluid retention (edema) and shortness of breath. Since he's been in the hospital, they have drained over 25 liters of liquid from his body. His heart is somewhat stabilized as of yesterday. The edema has been treated and is nearly all cleared up. Thanks to the great medical staff for all they are doing for Al.
Al's daughter, Ginny, has been with him ever since he went into the hospital. She has been in touch with several of Al's friends and with family members. We are hoping to relieve Ginny of having to give daily reports by phone and instead hope more friends and family will learn about Al's progress through this web page.
I spoke with Al today and he was in very good spirits. It was so nice to hear his voice. Please keep Al and his family in your thoughts and prayers. We will post updates on Al's condition as we hear from Ginny.
