Allison Ryan Calhoun

Welcome to my Caring Bridge site.  Charlie and I are doing this to keep everyone in the loop.  As you know, mid August, I went to the ER with some side pains.  While I was in there, they did a CT scan on me and found some growths on my liver.  After a biopsy, it was initially determined that it was a neuroendocrine.  After many test, they could not determine where the primary sources was.  We got MD Anderson involved early on.  They did their own pathology and to our surprise, it was not a neuroendocrine, but rather it was Stage 4 Breast cancer that had returned after 13 years.  Needless to say, our wold was rocked.

We went to MD Anderson and it was determined that I would start Chemo immediately.  After two cycles of treatment (Which I am doing in Lincoln) we went back to MD Anderson for restaging.  The Chemo has had significant effect on the tumors and after a bone scan, I am happy to report that it has not spread to the bones!  We will go back in three months to determine our next step!
