Many of you have asked for my address: 3015 W. San Carlos St. #3 Tampa, FL 33629 Not surprisingly, I have had regular mammograms since I turned 40 due to my mother's bilateral breast cancer at ages 48 and 67. When I moved to Tampa, I knew I needed to find an imaging center. I had a 3D mammogram here in Tampa in September, discovered a lump, and was called back a week later for a Diagnostic Mammogram and Ultrasound. I quickly had Ultrasound biopsy and was diagnosed with Invasive Ductile Carcinoma. An MRI was conducted and surgery was scheduled. A lumpectomy is scheduled for Nov 6 at noon and I will stay overnight at St. Joseph's Hospital. A six week radiation treatment will follow about one month following surgery. Possible chemo treatments are undetermined at this time depending on the pathology results in two-three weeks.
I will try to post updates as soon as I have them from my surgery and you can check back here instead of contacting me directly. I am grateful to God for my excellent surgeon and team. I'm thankful my mother (Suzanne) and brother (Colin) flew down from Atlanta to be with me this week.
Thank you all for the outpouring of love and support. I am grateful to be surrounded in prayer.
