Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

So lets start at the beginning to get you caught up and then I will try to keep updates posted for everyone along the way.
Last July I noticed a lump in my left breast after I stopped nursing Kord. I thought it was a clogged duct and watched it for awhile. When it didnt go away I showed my OB who also agreed it was likely a clogged duct. I started trying some lymphatic massage and heat to unblock it and in October I noticed a lymph node and some pain. I saw my OB again in December and she ordered an ultrasoud and mammogram to see what was going on. I had the mammogram and ultrasound January 4th after which the radiologist said she "had concerns for cancer". I was scheduled for an MRI and biopsies the next week. The biopsies showed metastatic invasive ductal carcinoma grade 3 that has spread to my lymph nodes. I met with my cancer team that includes a radiation oncologist, oncologist, surgeon, geneticist and nurse to discuss my treatment plan. I will start with 18 weeks of chemotherapy as well as monoclonal antibody treatment followed by surgery, likely a double mastectomy and then radiation. It is going to be a long journey with treatments over the next year but I know with the support of family and friends all will be well. I appreciate your prayers, concern and love.
