I created this Caring Bridge site to keep everyone informed about the details of my cancer journey. I will do my best to keep this site current and my sisters may help out with updating from time to time. I cannot thank you all enough for your thoughts, prayers, and kindness. I'm laying low for now as I get used to my new normal and hope to get back in the swing of things soon. I love you all! - Alisha
After finding a lump in my right breast and going through numerous tests, I was diagnosed with Stage 4 metastatic breast cancer in April of 2018. The type of cancer I have is hormone receptor positive. I've begun treatment at Lemmon-Holton Cancer Pavilion in Grand Rapids, starting with hormone therapy. The injections I'm receiving are also working to fight the cancer. After the process of putting my body into menopause, I will begin chemotherapy (most likely sometime this summer) with a double mastectomy to follow. I have a long road ahead, but I'm so lucky to be receiving such wonderful care with the support of my family and friends.
