Alicia had a sudden brain bleed on Sunday, February 6th. She was taken by ambulance to Cuyuna Regional Medical Center in Crosby, MN and then airlifted to Abbott Northwestern hospital in the Twin Cities. She spent 8 days in ICU and then transferred to the Neurology department of the hospital. On March 1st she graduated to transitional care at The Emeralds in Grand Rapids, MN. We are pleased with her progress! We will keep you current on how she's doing in the journal entries below.
At this time, we ask those that wish to visit to please hold off while Alicia transitions into her new space and gets comfortable with her surroundings as she begins to spend more time working with rehab specialists. We would also like to hold space for family that hasn't been able to be with her due to visitor restrictions and give priority to some that need travel accommodations. If you're interested in visiting when we are ready, please let Doug know as we wish to start with an organized schedule as to not overwhelm her/us. Mail to: The Emeralds Attn: Alicia Burgers 2801 U.S. 169 Grand Rapids, MN 55744 Thanks everyone for all of the encouraging words and well wishes. You have no idea the impact we feel from a simple kind note! Keep them coming!
