Alice Marie O'Connor Hulings went gently to our Lord and her waiting husband Russ on Sunday morning, November, 6 - aptly All Saints Day Sunday in the Roman Catholic calendar.  Below is a journal of her last four days with us mere mortals and lots of fun pictures of mom with many of her beloveds.  Goodness, did she have a whole bunch of them or what?!!  We 4 "kids" are enjoying notes and stories you leave on this website as well as photos you send to us which we can upload.  Plans for mom's funeral Mass await coordinating with Fr. Pat, her (and our family's) dearest priest and friend. We will let you know as soon as we can - and be sure to arrange for virtual access to the service. Mom will be buried with Dad at Fort Logan National Cemetary here in Denver.

Original post on Nov. 3 begins here:

Our sweet Alice Marie took a bad fall this morning in her Meadow's suite bathroom, just about 20 minutes after staff had been in to check on her.  This was her 2nd fall in 2 days and this one left her with some very painful injuries.  Mom has been a Hospice patient for several months now and her nurse, Amy, came right away to dress her many wounds and assess where Mom  is at.  Sedation and  pain control are the priority for Mom now.  This keeps her sleeping but comfortable.   Sadly, she looks like she and Jack Dempsey had a couple of rounds and he won.  Her back hurts terribly when she moves and both knees are really banged up and swollen.  Darnit anyway.   Mom will be fed if she's interested and able.  It is really hard for her to drink any fluids without choking.  Amy feels like this fall could be what takes Mom back to her loving Lord in Heaven and her Russell who is waiting patiently for her.  We will keep you posted on this site of where Mama's journey takes her.  Love to all from Katie, Jim, Bill and Trish
