Al was diagnosed with stage 3 esophageal/stomach cancer in May 2016. He underwent chemo and radiation in the summer of 2016. In September 2016, he had surgery @Mayo to remove part of his esophagus. He was cancer free until June 2018 when his cancer returned to a lymph node in his upper chest and his stomach. He finished up chemo and radiation for the 2nd time in December 2018.
