Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.
Alex was diagnosed with lymphoma (ALCL) on September 21, 2016.
Early in September, Alex began having some strange symptoms. Doctors were baffled and test results were inconclusive as to what was really going on. He was seemingly well, with just an occasional sign of illness. Blood work showed an infection and several false positives led doctors to believe that Alex was fighting mono.
After a few days of being teased about the "kissing disease", Alex's symptoms began to get worse, with high fever & night sweats. Blood work was alarming, as well as, confusing and he was admitted again to Children's Hospital in Minneapolis. After three days of additional testing, it was confirmed that lymphoma was what Alex would be fighting.
We are encouraged by his oncologist that this form of lymphoma is very treatable. We are encouraged by the prayers of many. We are encouraged by Alex's drive to fight until he's won. Thanks for following along with Alex's story and rallying around him as he fights!
