Alex had a sudden cardiac arrest at age 25 on August 8, 2017.   It was a Tuesday afternoon.

A few days before, Alex and her daughter had a lovely afternoon  at the Como Zoo.  On Sunday, just two days before the arrest, we all strolled the St. Paul Farmers Market.  Early Monday morning, Alex began complaining of nausea and fatigue.  Her symptoms continued throughout the night and into the next morning.  By 1:30 on Tuesday she was in obvious distress, complaining of nausea, vomiting, chest pain, difficulty breathing and a "racing heart".  We left immediately for urgent care and she walked in to an empty waiting room.  She had been ushered into an exam room before I had her daughter out of  her car seat and into the waiting room.   At some point shortly after her admission to the room she was found unresponsive with no pulse.   She was aggressively resuscitated and transported to United Hospital in St.  Paul, where she was admitted to ICU.

Alex is a beautiful young woman who graduated from the Aveda Institute and is a very talented hairstylist, artist,  writer, and voracious reader.  She has a big circle of  family and friends, all of whom love her deeply.
