Welcome to our CaringBridge site. We've created it to keep friends and family updated. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement during this time when it matters most.
Bert had a massive brain bleed with a fracture on Friday June 17th.  This is the marathon of injuries. Tampa General Hospital Neuro ICU has been taking excellent care of him. This is where you want to be if you ever have a brain injury. He did not have a stroke there is no aneurysm.  The headache he experienced that morning of the 17th may have been the beginning of a bleed and then the passing out and impact of smacking his head on the floor all contributed to this injury. We may never know. What we do believe is that he will recover. Slowly. He has made remarkable progress. All of your prayers are felt and appreciated more than you can imagine. Perhaps you've had this experience of being lifted up by prayer. I have a faith today. One that was shown to me by Bert originally. I wasn't saved until 18 years ago. We will be married 34 years this month. So today I believe that Jesus died so I could experience this peace that passes understanding. I have been saying a prayer that my sister found from my grandmother, in her handwriting, and those are the last words. I make a choice daily to remain in Peace with Him and to leave Him in charge. What a blessing this way of life is. Thank you for taking this journey with us:) The scripture I have chosen for Bert is Isaiah's 58:8.
