Before Thanksgiving, Alan was feeling tired and "yucky"--nothing specifically wrong but he just didn't feel good. He decided he should go to the hospital so I knew he was feeling pretty bad because he hates hospitals/doctors' appointments!


The doctors weren't exactly sure what was wrong so they started doing some tests. Meanwhile he went to work everyday, enjoyed the holidays , and waited on the test results. 


Monday, January 9, we came to the Abingdon ER. He had gotten very weak over the weekend & was feeling horrible. We had an upcoming appointment with his doctor to go over test results but we never made it there. He was admitted that Monday...and things have gone from bad to worse.


His liver stopped working and other organs were showing stress. Fluid was building up too fast for his body to control. His blood  was too thin to have fluid drawn off. The doctors say his body is dying & there's nothing anyone can do to stop it. We've looked into many things to try & save him but it's too late.
