Alaina Geppert

Alaina was admitted through ER to Barnes on April 19. She had emergency surgery on April 22. Her diagnosis of Necrotizing Acute Soft Tissue Infection mandated surgery every 24 hrs and massive antibiotics. She had second surgery on April 23. Third surgery was April 25 and her fourth surgery just began, today, April 28. This diagnosis requires flesh removal periodically to stay ahead of the infection. Because they have removed tissue, she has large wounds in both her butt cheeks. The location of the wounds have limited some treatment options due to the inability for her to lie on her back. She has a wound vac on. This apparatus is used on burn and diabetic patients to accelerate wound .healing. She is in tremendous pain and facing more surgeries. The family is requesting prayers as she faces this long journey back to health.
