Alaina has suffered with constant mouth ulcers that keep her in chronic pain and is currently the reason why she is homeschooled. We have seen dozens of doctors and specialist with no ideas or ways to improve her quality of life. The last year it has escalated to horrible stomach cramps that has made her sick for hours and days. last year I got the call that no parent ever wants to receive, Alaina had a mass on her left ovary and it needed to be taken care of immediately, her post surgery results said that it was a cellular fibroma with no uninvolved healthy ovarian tissue that resulted in a complete removal of her left ovary and tube.
Jump ahead 11 months and today we were informed that Alaina has a 5 cm cystic mass of her right ovary that is causing her extreme pain again. We are waiting to here from mayo about the plan of treatment and what our options are.
