Our rock hit a bump.  On Tuesday, July 7th Aimee had a serious stroke.    We were lucky to identify it quickly and immediately get her in an ambulance to the Needham BI where they treated her before air-lifting her to Boston for surgery.  The surgery removed 70% of the clot that caused her stroke.  However, the right side of her brain suffered some injury.  She is in the ICU.  We are not sure how long she will be in the hospital (it will be at least another week) and the doctors are still trying to assess her long-term prognosis.  Regardless, in-patient rehab is almost certain.  She is still in a fragile place right now.  Hopefully things are stable and it is just left-side impairment that improves as much as possible as each day passes.

We are using this CaringBridge Website to keep family and friends updated in one place.   Beyond providing information we also wanted one place where anyone can convey their thoughts.  All of the thoughts, well wishes and prayers so many have sent.  Please keep them coming through the site both publicly and through private messages – they mean more than you would ever expect.  As mentioned, Aimee is our rock, but for the foreseeable future we need to provide her unwavering support so she can fight her way through this challenge.
