Our sweet Mimi/Aunt Aggie/Agnes/Mom had a bit of a setback in her life these past couple of weeks. She had been struggling with a cold and had fainted which resulted in a overnight hospital stay about 1 week ago. Last Thursday, she had a fall at home and was taken into the hospital via ambulance. She sustained two compression fractures in her back, pneumonia and low sodium. On Sunday evening, they told us that she had a small bowel obstruction. With this news, Mimi opted to not have surgery to repair this, fearing the complications that could arise due to her age. Jeff Bynum and Katie Rosenquist arrived today, Monday, and have sure helped to lift her spirits. She met with the doctor in the hospital today and he does not think she actually has a small bowel obstruction but just that things are moving slowly through her bowels. We are taking things day by day but as of right now the doctor/medical team is very optimistic that she will recover. She is very weak and taking a lot of naps.
At this time, we ask that you keep her in your thoughts and prayers. I (Abby) will try to update this site with any changes as they occur. Mimi loves to get cards, so feel free to send those but please refrain from visiting at this time at her request.
