Thank you for visiting our caring bridge site. We created this site to keep all of our family and friends updated in one place on Addison.

In February 2022, Addison had blood work done after running a fever for over a week. Addison was then admitted to the hospital for extremely low white blood count. He was given IV antibiotics for possible blood infection but overall doctors believed his WBC was so low due to a recent viral infection which they said is common. The week following that, he was back in the hospital. After three days doing all possible tests and continued fevers, they transferred him to a different hospital to get a bone marrow biopsy. On Thursday, March 3, 2022 we received the heart-breaking news that Addison has B-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. It is a type of cancer that affects your blood and bone marrow. When you have B-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, your system makes immature white blood cells instead of mature white blood cells your body needs. The immature cells do not perform necessary tasks such as fighting infections. As the immature cells build up in your body, there isn’t room for healthy, mature cells.

On Friday, March 4, 2022, Addison got his port put in for his future chemotherapy. His WBC and ANC levels are very low right now which means his immune system is compromised and is mostly at risk of infection.

There are many unknowns right now which makes this all so hard. We will do our best to keep you all updated through this site.

Please keep our family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult journey. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.
