Adam Schmidt

This morning on Adam’s way to work he was hit by a car that made a left hand turn into him. He was on his motorcycle. Mom heard sirens and called him. He actually answered. She asked him if the sirens were for him. He said, “Yes, Mom.” “Are you hurt?” The answer was “Yes, Mom.” Mom woke me up and we headed to the scene. He was awake and talking. He had major injuries to his lower extremities. They took him by ambulance. At this time we didn’t know which hospital he was going to. The EMT called later and told us he was at North Memorial in Modesto. I talked to the ER nurse who told me they had to intubate him because of difficulty breathing when they were trying to straighten bones in his left leg. He was sent to ICU. He went into surgery at 1:20 PM.
