This is Patty. We are using this site to let you know of a recent development in Adam’s health.
Last Sunday while we were traveling to Ashland via plane, Adam experienced severe pain in the center of his chest. We took him to the emergency room immediately upon landing where they ruled out a heart attack. They ran a systemized battery of tests to rule out various things, but then found something we were completely blindsided by. In brief, Adam has pancreatic cancer which has spread to his spleen and kidneys. We are devastated.
We returned to Seattle on Thursday and Friday he had a biopsy, CT Scan and lots of blood work done to prepare him for a consultation with his new oncologist next Tuesday afternoon. At that time, we expect to know more about where we are and what the plan is going forward.
We know this is shocking and unexpected. It is for us, too. Please know that your friendship and support means EVERYTHING TO US. And we cannot get through this without you. So, don’t feel shy about sending an encouraging word or scheduling a visit. You can leave comments here for Adam at any time and I will make sure that he sees them. You can also contact me directly. I will try to be prompt, but it does get quickly overwhelming to try to reply to multiple people.
As always, Adam is terrible at all things cell phone.I am his designated social secretary, so feel free to work with me to schedule a visit or a call. Be prepared! Adam wants everyone who contacts him to tell him their favorite joke. He says it does not need to be funny - just your favorite.
Feel free to pass along the link to this site to anyone who might have an interest in Adam and his health condition.
