Adam Fifield

This page has been created to help convey updates and display Adam's medical recovery. Adam was involved in a head-on motorcycle accident on Wednesday July 24th 2019 at about 8:30pm. He was airlifted to Carolinas Medical Center Main Trauma Hospital in Charlotte, NC. He survived an accident that seemed unsurvivable. The injury to his left leg is one never seen by the trauma staff at CMC. Journal entries will be added with the most current information (daily) until this begins to slow down. He has a long road to recovery and is estimated not to return home for at least the next year. 


His injuries include:
Amputation of the left leg & hip down the center of the sacrum (traumatic hemipelvectomy). All nerves and blood vessels severed and removed from left side of sacrum. 
Broken right pelvic bones (superior and inferior pubic ramus)
L1-L5 vertebrae broken
Left arm ulna and radius shattered. Loss of 50% bone. Muscle & tissue removed. Tendons & nerve damaged. (Still awaiting reconstructive surgery)
Broken right wrist
