Doug and I went to meet with the surgeon today (7/8/16)
(please see 'photos' tab for pathology reports)
The main take-away is that the Dr apologized for alarming us. The diagnosis is Sarcoidosis. No cancerous tissue was found.

We will meet with the respiratory specialist here in Lapeer on the 22nd to see if Doug needs immuno-suppressant  therapies. Sarcoidosis is what the doc described as an 'odd' disease. In other words, they don't know what causes it, and it is different in every person. Some people have flare ups, some people never experience it again after the initial discomfort. It is described as an auto-immune reaction.

Doug and I truly hope that this Dr. learned a valuable lesson.
If results are inconclusive or at all unknown, we would rather have waited to find out than suffer under a scary misdiagnosis. This Dr. told Doug, myself, and Doug's mom that this was lymphoma with absolutely no degree of uncertainty on 7/1/16 (surgery date). As a result, an entire community was affected.

We are so appreciative of your love and prayers. Lapeer has welcomed us with such open arms.
This is our forever home and we love this community even more now!
