Abby Johnson, wife to Chase, and mom to Ryker and Connor, was in a tragic car accident on the evening of Friday, July 9th, 2021. Abby was 8 months pregnant at the time and life-flighted to the University of Missouri Hospitals in Columbia, MO. By the grace of God, just the right people where put in place to save her life.
Abby has a long journey of healing ahead of her, as her body sustained multiple injuries. She has shown us all every day how strong her spirit is as she continues to improve physically. Abby has serious injuries to both legs, internal injuries, as well as third degree burns to one side. The amazing doctors and staff in Columbia are doing an excellent job helping to repair her body in order for optimal healing. Tragically, her sweet unborn babe, Caden Chase, did not survive the accident. So not only does Abby have the long physical healing journey ahead, she also will experience a tremendous about of mental anguish in the months to come.
If you don't personally know Abby, you are missing out. She is beautiful inside and out. She works every day in her day job to serve the community as a Respiratory Therapist at Ottumwa Regional. Her love for animals is obvious in her collection of dogs, cats, horses, and most recently chickens. Abby is devoted to the love of her life, Chase, and a wonderful mother to Ryker and Connor. She is an amazing daughter to Kirk and Deanne, sister to Brad and Andrew, sister-in-law to Kelli, and aunt to Julia and Michael.
