CaringBridge Celebrates 22 Years in June

Eagan, Minn. (June 4, 2019) – This June, CaringBridge supporters can have twice the impact during the Summer 22nd anniversary campaign – June 4 through June 12. During the campaign, board member and CaringBridge user Pete Segar, along with his wife Kim, have pledged to match all donations to CaringBridge, up to $10,000 on June 4 and 5, and up to $15,000 on June 11 and 12.

A donation to CaringBridge allows any family facing a health crisis the ability to create a free personal website that is ad-free and secure. CaringBridge is sustained by tens of thousands of donors who use CaringBridge and have experienced its value firsthand.

Through donor surveys, CaringBridge donors have shared that their number one concern is ensuring that no one goes through a health journey alone, and that everyone who needs CaringBridge knows about CaringBridge. In honor of this spirit of sharing, CaringBridge has kicked off an outreach campaign as part of its 22nd anniversary called “This is How We Show Up.”

This campaign honors the stories of CaringBridge users such as Abby Scott of Jupiter, FL whose family uses CaringBridge to chronicle her experience with her lifelong rare condition – Congenital Femoral Deficiency. And Telly Sturgis of Chaska, MN whose family finds support in CaringBridge after he was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia at age two. “For many people, CaringBridge is a uniquely safe place in a chaotic online world,” said Liwanag Ojala, CaringBridge CEO. “A donation to CaringBridge means the preservation of that purpose, and we are immensely grateful for all our donors who give thousands of families going through the toughest times the gift of help and healing when they need it most.”

To date, there are nearly 800,000 websites on CaringBridge with a new CaringBridge site created every 8 minutes for someone in need. Ninety percent of all funding comes from people who have experienced the power of CaringBridge. To learn more or make a tax-deductible contribution, visit caringbridge.org/give.
