World Caring Day Celebrates Caregivers through Stories and Immersive Experience

June 7 Celebration Honors the 25th Anniversary of CaringBridge

Eagan, Minn. (May 23, 2022) – The world needs caring now more than ever. Every day, millions of acts of caring – from great to small – uplift us all. That’s why June 7 is World Caring Day, shining a light on the power and possibility that come from caring for one another. In honor of the 25th anniversary of CaringBridge, the nonprofit invites you to virtually share your story of caring and attend an immersive event, showcasing the impact that caregivers have on the world.

CaringBridge is a safe online place visited by nearly 400,000 people every day to give and receive support, the ultimate act of caring, on a health journey. The work of a caregiver is hard on body and mind, with nearly 45% of caregivers using CaringBridge saying they feel “super-stressed.

New research states that the simple acts of caring can help reduce a caregiver’s anxiety by 30%. Through World Caring Day, CaringBridge aims to continue to support the important work that caregivers do and provide an outlet of community and encouragement.

“We know the impact a caregiver has on better outcomes of a loved one’s health journey is monumental, while the stress to do so can also be overwhelming,” said Tia Newcomer, CaringBridge CEO. “Knowing you have a community rallying behind you in support, truly matters. Through World Caring Day, we continue to support caregivers by shining a light on the power of taking care of one another. Because no one should ever have to go through a health journey alone.”
