CaringBridge Holiday Giving Campaign Kicks Off on Giving Tuesday

Eagan, Minn. – (November 30, 2020) – CaringBridge kicks off December with a month-long holiday giving campaign thanks to a generous gift from the Richard M. Schulze Family Foundation. The Schulze Family Foundation will be matching donations made on December 1, Giving Tuesday, up to $100,000. Along with the gracious matching gift, the launch of the campaign will also include a virtual event.

The virtual event will take place on Tuesday, December 1 at 7 p.m. CST. Joining CaringBridge CEO Liwanag Ojala will be Emmy award-winning journalist Cathy Wurzer. The event will also feature heartfelt personal stories of CaringBridge users, Bernie and Leslie Goldblatt, who were diagnosed with COVID-19 earlier this year.

Giving Tuesday is a global movement that encourages people around the world to do good. In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, this year’s Giving Tuesday event is more essential than ever as the power of connection and generosity have become increasingly evident.

More Important Than Ever

CaringBridge gives patients and caregivers a free, private, and secure place to provide updates to family and friends, ask for help and receive support and encouragement. The generous donations given to CaringBridge allow people facing a health journey the ability to stay connected with their loved ones and communities, which is one of the most essential aspects of the entire healing process.

“The importance of connection cannot be overstated, especially in these difficult times when the power of community is more relevant than ever,” said Ojala. “The help of our wonderful donors allows us to continue our organization’s goal of providing a safe space for people to receive love and encouragement. We are so grateful to our supporters who are truly making a difference in the lives of thousands of people by helping to ensure those navigating a health journey are not going through it alone.”

Holiday Appeal Specifics

The holiday giving campaign officially runs from December 1-31. Throughout the campaign, donors will have the chance to have their donations matched during four additional opportunities taking place on the following days: December 8-9, 15-16, 22-23 and 30-31.
