Every 6 minutes, a new CaringBridge website is created for someone experiencing a health crisis.

Primary Objective of Position

To create designs balancing user needs, business goals and technology that result in superior customer experience across all CaringBridge platforms. This position is responsible for implementing UI/UX wireframes and digital graphic designs and being a key member of the testing team and plays a critical role in designing for mobile-first responsive website and mobile app. This position also plays a key role implementing the brand designs and creating a great user experience.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Creates user-centered design methods to create innovative solutions that support best user experience for mobile desktop and mobile app.

  • Collaborates with internal teams and external partners to transform concepts into visual designs that meet user needs, meet business objectives and are technically sound.

  • Researches and develops a wide range of deliverables including wireframes, task flows, interactive prototypes, navigation models and user scenario across all platforms.

  • Creates interface design patterns, maintains a pattern library and maintains design style guides and accessibility guidelines to ensure a consistent user experience across all platforms.

  • Creates designs for A/B testing program.

  • Assists in managing external vendors related to design and print production.

  • Ensures visual identity and brand stewardship when working with internal and external parties to create, educate and maintain brand consistency across the channels.

  • Stays current on best practices, trends and innovative technologies related to user interaction and interface design and make recommendations on how CaringBridge services may be improved.

  • Establishes and sustains interactive relationships with external vendors and contacts to result in favorable networks to support the current and future goals of the organization and to benchmark practices/results to maximize organizational effectiveness.

  • Keeps manager informed of important developments, potential problems, and related information necessary for effective management. Coordinates/communicates plans and activities with others, as appropriate to ensure a coordinated work effort and team approach.

  • Performs related work as apparent or assigned.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in web/graphic design, human computer interaction, user interface or interaction design or related field.
  • 5-7 years of user experience design, responsive web design, iOS and Android app design.
  • Understanding of HTML, CSS and Pattern Libraries.
  • Ability to map out current user processes and create new processes to support best-in-class user experiences.
  • Thorough understanding of the diverse needs of web and mobile users. Familiar with designing for ADA compliance.
  • Strong self-starter with a record of success.
  • Strong collaboration and teambuilding skills.
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills.
  • Ability to thrive in the rapid pace and constant change associated with the industry.
  • Ability to successfully manage numerous projects simultaneously.
  • Thorough knowledge of PhotoShop, Illustrator, InDesign, Dreamweaver and web-based services and usage.
  • Knowledge of Sketch, Balsamiq, Omnigraffle Pro, Survey Monkey, SilverPop, WebSort or similar tools.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing with personnel and outside contacts.
