Primary Objective of this Position

To support the product owner and other business stakeholders throughout the systems development lifecycle by preparing and delivering relevant research, analysis and documentation, and plans that support decisions.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manages projects with partners and larger product roadmap project.

  • Supports the development of new website service offerings and features, determining best approaches and strategies.

  • Assists IT development leader in organizing and leading periodic planning workshops.

  • Supports the development, communication and maintenance of the current roadmap and ensures consistency with market requirements.

  • Assists with documentation and approval of business requirements for new features, minor enhancements and/or defect fixes.

  • Acts as the liaison between business owners and IT to ensure work is aligned with our strategy and prioritized based on business impact.

  • Serves as proxy for Product Owner to provide requirements on smaller product enhancements.

  • Produces and updates project reports and timing and action plans.

  • Coordinates/communicates plans and activities with internal and external resources, as appropriate, to ensure a coordinated work effort and team approach.

  • Ensures that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget.

  • Reports and escalates to management as needed.

  • Stays current on market, competition and trends including tactics, field concepts and practices applying them to strategies when applicable.

  • Establishes and sustains interactive relationships with external vendors or partners and contacts to result in favorable networks to support the current and future goals of the organization and to benchmark practices/results to maximize organizational effectiveness.

  • Keeps Manager/Supervisor informed of important developments, potential problems, and related information necessary for effective management. Coordinates/communicates plans and activities with others, as appropriate to ensure a coordinated work effort and team approach.

  • Performs related work as apparent or assigned.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in business, management information systems, computer science or related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in associate/assistant product or project management role.
  • Experience as Product Owner, Business Analyst, Project Manager or Scrum Master.
  • Experience working in Agile and Iterative development environments.
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills.
  • Strong collaboration and teambuilding skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing with personnel and outside contacts.
  • Solid technical background, with understanding or hands-on experience in software development and web technologies.
  • Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of JIRA application.
  • PMP / PRINCE II certification is a plus.
