The Lord gives strength to his people; the Lord blesses his people with peace. Paslm 29:11

Hello:

We were at CHW last Thursday for our bi-annual cardiology check up. We were once again blessed to hear the words "he is doing fine" after his echo. They countine to watch his "leakage" and the murmur caused by it but there appears to be no change from last time. You just can't hear that enough..... Next spring we have scheduled his first stress test on the treadmill. So far so good no meds that needed changed or anything!! YIPPIE

We are holding down the fort here at home while Cal is away at a training school in Penn. He has been there for 5 weeks learning to fly the new Black Hawk helicopter, The training has been very intense and we have barley heard from him but it appears to being well for him.

Zach is really enjoying being back at school. He just loves Ms. GiGi and Ms Rene from Early Childhood class and now he has a new teacher Ms. Shoemake in the afternoon for his 4 year old kindergarden class. It sure makes for a long day for him but he seems to be handeling just fine and his teachers report that he is a joy to have in the class. I can't tell you how proud I am of him...knowing how far he has come and what a wounderful little boy he is.

He is talking more and more all the time and continues to amaze me with the new things he learned.

We are taking part in a another study through the hospital that is looking at HLHS kids verus "normal" kids. I filled out nearly two hours worth of forms and will take him in on Sept. 22 to have the psychologist do a set of "puzzle tests" to see where he seems to be "ranking" these days. They think there might be a link between the low oxygen levels that HLHS kids have and some learning disabilities. I am happy to say that I believe Zach is catching up very nicely but it will be intreasting to see how the tests looks to the "professionals".

Next week Sat. the 20th is a golf outing benifit for CHW that the 4 Whitewater HLHS boys will be VIPS for. Looking forward to being a part of that with our good friends and heart buddies. Sounds like Dr. Nancy and some staff from CHW are planning on being there too!

Thank you for thinking of us!!
