Yes, a part of my heart is in mourning.... The world of HLHS lost one of our angels not long ago. 2 yr old Braden Petska was part of a family I had met in the hospital shortly after Braden had his first surgery. His mom and I have e-mailed often and met at various functions. I held this baby....and now God does. The scary part is Braden was one of our "healthy heart kidos" he did not run a "rough course" as some of the others that I followed that have left us to soon. This sudden "acute arrythmia" has doctors and parents all a bit more on edge lately. Although Dr. Nancy finally did convience me I really should not continue to sleep with Zach out of fear of something happening to him too.
I pray often for my friend, Bradens mom....I know how her heart must ache. I pray for Zach and the heart families that live with the hurt and fears of heart disease. May God continue to comfort and sustain us in all things of this world.
On a different note.... The Jump Rope Heart Events are happening all over place. Nicole and Lakeview Elementary are doing their event this week. All four of our Whitewater HLHS families partcipated in this which was especailly meaningful since all our boys will be attending this school in the future. Hunter is already a kindergardener there, Zach will be there next year and James and Jack in a couple years.
I have been going to many schools all over SE Wisconsin sharing part of Zachs "heart story" with students who are doing Jump rope for heart and collecting donations for the American heart association. Those dollars are what makes some of the reasearch and technology possible to make the world of CHD a little brighter. God Bless everyone who helps join us in the fight against heart disease.
Happy Easter everyone...the tomb is empty.....HE LIVES!
Love, Tammy
