Check Up in Minneapolis

Tom's four-year check up went fairly well. Taking part in the research study was interesting. Tom had a bone scan, strength testing, aerobic testing, blood draws, insulin testing, etc. Tuesday, he roomed with someone who had a germ tumor in her brain when she was 18 months old. Today she is fifteen and healthy!

Tom has been having trouble with his wrist, so he had it x-rayed yesterday. The results of the x-ray showed.......AVN. :{ That is avascular necrosis (bone death from prednisone aggravated by an old fracture). So later today a call will be made to see an orthopedic specialist to see what can be done. Until then - no heavy lifting. This puts a real crimp in the work situation. Tom will go into work and do things that don't require heavy lifting. The good news is - everything else looks good. NED (no evidence of disease) but we can report numbers after the results of his PCR. This takes a couple weeks.

Thanks for checking in. Prayers continue for those still battling. Don't forget to sign the guest book! :}

The two Toms, Sarah, & Barb
