Welcome to our Web Page. On October 16 of 2002 our 3 year old son Parker had an MRI done. This MRI discovered that Parker had a mass the size of a golf ball centrally located in his brain. Brain surgery was scheduled for November 1st of 2002 at the UW Hospital in Madison, to remove the tumor. Because this mass was centrally located and resting on the motor strip area within Parkers’ brain, we were looking at partial to permanent paralysis of his left side, with surgery. This was to be a 5 – 7 hour procedure, surgery took 9 hours. Upon our return for Post-op on November 7th, we were told that the diagnosis of this mass was an Anaplastic Ependymoma. A rare Cancerous Tumor not usually found in the area to which his was. At this time, we realized that the brain surgery was just the beginning of our nightmare. From that point, Parker (we) underwent two catheters put in, six rounds of extensive Chemotherapy and a Stem Cell Transplant, with several fevers, infections, living in the hospital for about nine months, multiple difficulties with heart rates and many more such things. Never knowing the outcome of each day would be, was torcher. We are in remission at this time. Thank you for all of your prayers and support.
