Kaitlin Rose Richmond
Welcome to Kaitlin's web page.
A miracle began July 21, 1999. Jeff and I were entrusted by God to raise up His child, Kaitlin Rose Richmond. A bundle of joy entered our lives this day in July. A smile that sparkled, eyes that twinkled, and a Spirit that would, all to soon, soar beyond human understanding.
"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law." Galatians 5:22,23
Kaitlin was diagnosed with neuroblastoma August 22, 2002.
Her Spirit was not affected by the cancer in her body. She blessed her family, her friends, her community, her world... with the love of Jesus Christ. Her Spirit grew stronger and wiser. In eternity there is no beginning and no end. Kaitlin shared once, "I've been waiting 100 years to meet you, momma, and I'm glad I did. You're the best momma in the world, and we'll live happily ever after."
We had to learn, and are still learning, how to walk all over again, this time with the Holy Spirit. Kaitlin taught us well, how to trust the quiet voice, He will help and He will comfort. He will not always tell us what we want to hear. He may move in ways we do not expect. He will not be controlled or manipulated. But He will help, and He will comfort and will quiet the raging storms of our lives and guide us into all truth. His comfort is vital to our eternal being.
And now we pray, as Jesus prayed before ascending to Heaven, "I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He (the Holy Spirit) may abide, with you forever." John 14:16
Thank you God...Thank you Jesus...Thank you Kaitlin...
August 2006, Kaitlin tells me, "God says it's time to go home to Heaven." Prayers for a miracle are answered. Kaitlin is healed...healed eternally. She peacefully entered Heaven, September 30th, 2006.
Only through prayer, have we traveled this miracle, called life. Only through prayer will we continue this eternal journey.

"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulations, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God." 2 Corinthians 1:3,4
Journal
Friday, January 30, 2009 12:01 PM When you were a child and didn't feel well or when you fell and bruised your knee it hurt...you may have even cried at the pain. Soon a friend or loved one would come and give you a hug or wipe your tears. You felt comfort in the midst of your pain. You may even forget the pain for a bit. However, if you bump that knee you would very quickly remember its presence and would probably grab hold of your friends hand very tightly to relieve some of the pressure. Have you ever had a time when it seemed there was not a hand strong enough to hold. It pains me to know that we all have those times and that in those times there is a hand who is not only strong enough but that has known far worse pain. Jesus, knowing His destiny, would retreat to the garden to pray and plead with His Father in heaven for strength and endurance. He trusted God to provide all that He needed to overcome the cross...and He did. He looked to the Father's hand to give Him strength and comfort. Oh, can we cling to Jesus in those times when the fiery trials seem so unbearable?
I visited the Ronald McDonald House last week and once again was reminded of the strength to overcome. That God is right there in the midst of it all...hugging and wiping away tears. There is nothing to distract you from His presence there. In the midst of all the unanswered questions, pain, and darkness...a smile...in all His glory...illuminates the room...and He is there.
The Lord reminded me also of words that a dear friend spoke to me when we began our journey there at the Ronald House. Words that again comfort me today, "Embrace this trial and know the Lord has brought you here. Look for Him at work around you and praise those precious moments that He reveals Himself to you."
I submerged myself in His Word when I returned home. Knowing He had a new message to share with me. And this is what He, so gently, has led me to know. His word says, "For our God is a consuming fire." Hebrews 12:29 and yet it also says, "God is Love." 1John 4:8
Through out Kaitlin's four years of treatment for childhood cancer the Lord committed us to pray for her healing. It was our hope that he would heal her and give her a long life on earth. Instead he healed her eternally and gave her a life overflowing with His love. And that love still flows today. Through those years of committing to prayer our fiery trial was surrendered to God and we waited patiently for His love to come. Isn't it true than that through that surrender whatever is consumed has not been taken from us but has been the means by which God has poured out His love on us???
As I studied His word the song below came over the airways. It is Kaitlin's favorite group, Avalon. I fell to my knees and praised the Lord for His amazing love at just the perfect time.
******* YOU WERE THERE Artist: Avalon http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nutVz94Uhcs
I wonder how it must have felt When David stood to face Goliath on a hill I imagine that he shook with all his might Until You took his hand, and held on tight
'Cause You were there, You were there In the midst of danger's snare You were there, You were there always You were there when the hardest fight Seemed so out of reach Oh, You were there, You were always there You were always there
So there he stood upon that hill Abraham with knife in hand was poised to kill But God in all his sovereignty had bigger plans And just in time, You brought a lamb
'Cause You were there, You were there In the midst of the unclear You were there, you were there always You were there when obedience Seemed to not make sense You were there, You were always there You were always there
So haven't I learned that my ways Aren't as high as Yours are And You alone keep the universe From crumbling into dust You are God and though we would Not have understood You There You were
Hanging blameless on a cross You would rather die than leave us in the dark Every moment, every planned coincidence Just all makes sense With Your last breath
You were there, You were there During historys darkest hour You were there, You were there always You were the Victor and the King You were the power in David's swing You were the calm in Abraham You are the God who understands You are the strength when we have none You are the living, Holy one You were, You are and You will always be the Risen Lamb of God
You were, You are and You will always be The Risen Lamb of God *******
Pray for our children to cling to the Lord Jesus. To follow Him and serve Him. Therefore having a life full of amazing love.
Bless you, Jenni
