A miracle began July 21, 1999. Jeff and I were entrusted by God to raise up His child, Kaitlin Rose Richmond. A bundle of joy entered our lives this day in July. A smile that sparkled, eyes that twinkled, and a Spirit that would, all to soon, soar beyond human understanding.

"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law." Galatians 5:22,23

Kaitlin was diagnosed with neuroblastoma
August 22, 2002.

Her Spirit was not affected by the cancer in her body. She blessed her family, her friends, her community, her world... with the love of Jesus Christ. Her Spirit grew stronger and wiser. In eternity there is no beginning and no end. Kaitlin shared once, "I've been waiting 100 years to meet you, momma, and I'm glad I did. You're the best momma in the world, and we'll live happily ever after."

We had to learn, and are still learning, how to walk all over again, this time with the Holy Spirit. Kaitlin taught us well, how to trust the quiet voice, He will help and He will comfort. He will not always tell us what we want to hear. He may move in ways we do not expect. He will not be controlled or manipulated. But He will help, and He will comfort and will quiet the raging storms of our lives and guide us into all truth.

His comfort is vital to our eternal being.

And now we pray, as Jesus prayed before ascending to Heaven, "I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He (the Holy Spirit) may abide, with you forever." John 14:16

Thank you God...Thank you Jesus...Thank you Kaitlin...

August 2006, Kaitlin tells me, "God says it's time to go home to Heaven." Prayers for a miracle are answered. Kaitlin is healed...healed eternally. She peacefully entered Heaven, September 30th, 2006.

Only through prayer, have we traveled this miracle, called life. Only through prayer will we continue this eternal journey.

Happy New Year! Bear with me...

Do things just happen...for a reason??? Does it do us any benefit to try to understand that reason??? Do we really have any control over the outcome of our lives??? Do our choices really create our destiny??? Are those choices just responses to God's plan to draw us near to Him???

2009 has begun with some very interesting internal dialogue. I don't know if we can ever truly know the answers to these questions. However...what I do know... God loves us more than we could ever love. His plan is perfect. He is the only one that understands that plan. He is all powerful. Ruler of Heaven and Earth. Doesn't that mean that those things, or people, or events that we label as "bad" or "evil", are really filtered through His loving hands. Help us to understand Lord. There is no reason... to fear, if we BELIEVE!

God the Father, sent His Son Jesus, to suffer on a cross...then rise again...for us...so that we may have eternal life. Read that over again...and again...and again. Find a bible and dig through His word. Meditate on Jesus words as He so confidently and courageously surrendered His life to His loving Father in Heaven. We too can partake of this confidence and courage if we will but trust Him. He is the reason! Can we love Him just a portion of how He has loved us? Won't he pour out double portions if we just BELIEVE? I don't know the answers but I pray He will show me. I pray He will.

Now, I ask this question, "Would any of us moms and dads ever choose suffering for our children???" I do know the answer to that one...a big...NO!!! How did God do that? We can't know...because we aren't God. We can submit our minds to understanding eternity and then maybe we have a glimpse of His loving plan. We may never know but we can trust Him and know He loves us...that much.

God is challenging us to learn what it truly means to BELIEVE...in the good times and bad! Thank you God for sending your Son to become like us so that we could become like Him.

I pray for a year full of God revealing Himself to us as we seek Him.
