Dear Caring Bridge friends,

The holidays are here. I trust that God is guiding you through days that may be filled with a vast array of emotions. For some, the time will be spent in a hospital. For others, you may be at home waiting on test results. There will be those who have received good news and perhaps a physical healing that will undoubtedly cause rejoicing and celebration. And for those who may have an empty chair at your holiday gatherings, may the love of God fill the hole that is in your heart.

It's possible that I will once again sound like a broken record as I tell you that I do not know what you are facing. No, I have not been down that road. I remember a movie-I think it was "Twister", where one actor commented about a tornado taking one house and leaving the next. I suppose there are some who feel like God 'takes' individuals and to them it seems so unfair. My Christian belief tells me that God doesn't take anyone. God is in control and nothing happens without his direction or his approval. But to say that God sits on his throne and dishes out circumstances is beyond my belief of the nature of God. Bad things happen to good people because we don't live in a perfect world. One person gets cancer and the next doesn't. One child gets Fanconi Anemia and the next doesn't. Even though I don't know where you are, I could see where one might question that happening. I don't know and I'm not going to try to explain it either.

The child of God believes there is more than just what we have here and now. I believe the bible tells us that Jesus has gone to prepare a place and when he returns, he will take the faithful to that place to live eternally with no pain, no fear, nothing negative in any way whatsoever!

The coming days may be very difficult for you. None of 'us' can understand the how and why of it all. But, I hope you will surround yourself with family and friends during this time and that you all will draw strength from each other. I also hope that you will open up your heart and allow God to fill you with his love, comfort, and care.

"Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? As it is written: 'For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.' No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans 8:35-39(NIV)

Happy Thanksgiving to each of you. I count it a blessing to have you as a part of my life!

In Christian love,
Wayne / Mr. Wayne

Ian,

Woooooo, who is that handsome dude on the front page? Mom and dad, get a really BIG STICK because I think a small one will not work!!

Ian, you are one amazing young man. I think you possess something that many do not have. I think you know what it is and I'm sure mom and dad do. So, you just keep working on it and make sure you never let it fail.

Keep lookin' up and continue to bless us by your attitude and actions!

And if by chance you don't know what I'm referring to by what you have that some don't, just let me know and I'll explain it.

Hey, Ian - just saying hi before I have to start babysitting. Hope you are doing well - We have been doing some remodeling so have been really busy. Didn't want you to think we forgot you. Can't believe you will be 13 this summer - Iris can't either - she did babysit you a bit during your earlier years. Makes her feel old! I'm praying for you and your parents - hang in there. Love you.

Hi Ian!

Slow Down-you're growing too fast!! That's probably what mom and dad think too, isn't it? Well, you are just a normal young guy wanting to gain more freedom and independence. That's a part of the growing process. Just don't rush it too quickly, OK.

I see from the pictures that you are still active in scouts. That is a good thing! I believe the Boy Scouts are doing a great job of teaching young boys and men about important things in life. I also know you are one of God's mighty warriors. You be sure and always be strong in God's army!!!

Keep lookin' up cause God wants to see your smiling face.

I appreciate you,

A giraffe looks in my window
At the same time everyday,
He just appears with silly ears,
When I turn on the light to play.

I tell him the things I do at two
While he munches and crunches the leaves,
That are so very tasty too,
From the tippy tops of the trees.

One night he didn’t look so good,
His eyes were filled with pain.
I asked him, "What is the problem, the food?"
He said, "I must explain!"

"My knees are hurting pretty bad
And my long neck is so sore.
I really do like our talks,
But I can't take much more!
If you do a favor for me,
I know how my pain will be free.

CAN YOU MOVE UP TO THE SECOND FLOOR!!!

Hi Ian!

I found your website when you signed Matthew's guestbook. That was so sweet and kind of you to do, it's great for Matthew to have more CB friends that are close in age. You are one cutie, I love your photos! I have two sons, Quinn is 12 and Callum is 7, almost 8. They are as blonde as you are ginger. :-) They love PS2 as well, especially dirt biking games. Keep working hard in school and showing love and respect to your Mom and Dad, and everything will work out great for you....and keep having fun and smiling!

Hi Ian,

YOU ARE THE MAN!! You wrote some powerful words in your last entry. You wrote some positive stuff about your parents and I think you really do appreciate them very much!

Parents aren't perfect. At least I wasn't! I made enough goofs to fill a large bucket. But, we always love our children and want the very best for them. Some of our actions come because we remember living through the ages that our children are now facing. We remember some of the bad things and temptations that we faced. So, a lot of what our children think of as negative is just us parents trying to help you navigate through some uncharted waters. Love mom and dad to the max. Love God even more!!

Hope you are doing great! I appreciate and love you.

Mr. Wayne

Hey Ian,

Asked out by a girl, huh??????? Well, let's see now-do we say "yes" or do we say "YES"? You be the judge!!

Just make sure you treat her right. Cause if you don't, I'm going to be disappointed and might even take some action! You don't even want me in your case over that. Well, I'm just pulling your chain a little. But, do treat the young ladies special and you will have something special. Don't just look at what's on the outside, but look at what's on the inside. There are a lot of guys who only want to date the beauty queens, the cheerleaders, or the most popular girls. That's OK if the girl you like is one of them, but check out what's on the inside too. Treat her with respect. Open doors for her. Hold the chair when she's sitting down at a restaurant. Do special things for her to let her know she is important to you.

I know, I know, you're only 12. But, these qualities are something you can start working on now and when you do get serious with dating later on, you'll be a pro at treating them right. Ask any girl what she wants in a guy and if she is honest, she will look for character traits before handsome. She will want someone who treats her like a lady. She will want someone who opens doors and holds chairs for her. Don't believe me, ask your mom!

Ok, enough preaching for this time. I hope your acting stuff is going great. I hope you are getting the stuff in school that is giving you fits. And most importantly, I hope you are continuing to love God and give him first place in your life-even before the girls!!

Take care and I'll see you later.

Ian, Please listen to your parents as they only have your best interests at heart. Think about this for me the next time you want to listen to rappers not approved by your parents, Would you want Jesus to come back right now and hear me listening to this stuff? If the answer is "yes" then by all means disobey your parents and do it. If the answer is "no" then STOP before you get in too deep. Remember Satan wants you too!!!
Sorry if this sounds preachy, but this is the rule I live by.

I too was involved with Scouting here in Canada, I was Akela for 10 yrs & took the boys on many camping trips winter & summer & they loved it. Keep up with the acting & never take your eyes off of the Lord & he will always see you through.

Hey Ian!! Your looking great!! I took Kyle to his first fishing trip today to get another Belt loop award. I haven;'t been fishing for over 30 years!! He though the worm had mud in it when he poked the hook through it. I told him, ;'no;'< that is just poop! So now he hates fishing. He did catch blue gill, and one finger tip. He hooked himself and no longer wants to fish ever again!

And, don't forget to thank God daily for the blessings he sends your way. That includes the chance to get

Hi Ian,

I hope you are enjoying your chance at getting into acting. (Now you can get paid for doing
goofy stuff!)

Be sure and don't let acting or scouts or ANYTHING else get in the way of making good grades in school.
It doesn't seem important to a kid, but the grades you make in school will affect your future.
I hated school with a passion and I just barely passed some classes. Don't goof up like I did.

Hope you have a great day! Keep lookin' up!!

IAN!!!!

You an actor? That is incredible news! I think these talent scouts probably saw something that most
of us knew already. You are one awesome kid! It's about time they woke up and got their act together!!

I'm really happy for you and hope it works out in a good and positive way. I imagine it will take a lot
of hard work and dedication. But, it seems to me that is not something new to you. You have had to work
pretty hard to help your physical body keep going in the right direction and this should be a piece of cake.

The best advice I can give you is to pray about it. Ask God to help you make good choices. He will be
there for you in this new endeavor just as he has been all along.

Congrats!!

Hip hop, hippety hop
My “Easter Bunny” went off to the shop,
He bought me an egg and lots of chocs
And packed them into a cardboard box.
Then he wrapped it with paper and shiny string
It really was such a pretty thing.
Disaster struck when I opened the door-
He slid across the parquet floor,
He went round the corner and past the stairs
And finished up in a pile of chairs.
Of the Easter goodies not a trace,
he’d thrown them into my fireplace!
So a warning before you go opening doors
Make sure your “Bunny” has non-slip paws!

Happy Easter

With lots of love,

Everyone at Post Pals

CONGRATS on making Den Chief! That is totally awesome!!! I know the scouts are lucky to have someone
like you being in a leadership position. I know you love scouting and I hope it is something you

Ian,

What's this about a girlfriend???? Huh, huh, huh????

I thought girls had cooties? Did somebody tell me that to try and throw me off?

Awwww, I'm just kidding with you. A girlfriend eh. That's really neat. Now, just in case you have any questions
about girls, you be sure and call me. I know someone who understands women! I SURE DON'T!!!!

Well, I'm really kidding you now. I've been married to the sweetest girl for over 28 years. If you want to
have a girlfriend that's very special, just remember to treat her very special. God made girls a little
different from us guys, so you can't be too rough with them.

I hope things are going really well for you. Keep lookin' up and remember that God loves you very much.

hi ian, my name is melisa. i started nasal sprays when i was about 9 and i'm 25 now and i still have to use them. they are a real pain i know but some are available in a mist form rather than liquid and they work just as good and you feel absolutely nothing!! the one i had like that was called nasacort. it is like an asthma inhaler, in an aerosol like dispenser. i cant stand using them either but it sure beats how bad i feel if i dont. it will get easier. ave fun!! hope that you can try that kind. xoxo Melisa

Ian,

Please note the following instructions for healing:
1. Take your meds.
2. Take your doctor's advice.
3. Take your parent's advice.
4. When all else fails, do steps 1-3.

And, don't forget to pray. God is the great physician who loves you more than anything!!! The doctors,
nurses, medicines, and all the other 'stuff' that is available can do wonderful things. But, remember
to keep God at the center of it all. He is the one who is going to make it happen.

Hey Ian
How you doing buddy ? I am sure glad that you are feeling better ...You know ED and I think that if you take your meds (plus nose spray ) youll start to feel better ...the docter gives you them meds cause your body calls for it
Ok I am done with our two cents now !!!
ED and I have begun to work on the Race Truck Ed has skined the other truck (Thats so we can have new non dented skins on the truck to start the year off ....then we will be taking the Truck to Raymore Mo to have Curtis Morrison help us do some tricks to the body (putting more weight on the truck in diffrent places ) then we are going to work on the frame there is a bend in the frame ...it is cool how Ed and Curtis get the bend out ...they heat the affected area with a torch then they hook a chain that is hooked to a big 18 wheeler then they put a cum along on it (This is a Racers way of BandAidin the problem
after they heat the frame up the hook the chain with the cum along to the Race truck as well as the 18 wheeler then after the frame is good and glowing red hot they use the cum along to pull the bend or tweek out of the frame then they put a price of steal and weld it on the frame to hold it in place ...pretty nifty huh Ian when we do it I will take pics and send to you
Ok I better get going the cat is hungry and the Turtles are to (I have 4 ) and the birds too a cockateal and 2 ring neck doves ...Yes Werbe Racing loves anmails

Hi Ian!!!

Congratulations on your new personal record with PFT's.
It is very important that you use your meds. liek your doc.s want you to!!! Especially that nasal pary. Tha does help as far as healing in the sinuses!!!
Blake is on severla meds. for asthma & nasal meds. He helps us remember his meds. Right now he is in the hospital because he needed sinus surgery. HE doesn't make the important T-Cells that are needed to keep his sinuses clean, but he is breathing a little easier since Thurs.(day of surgery)& being all boy & then some!!
Gotta run time for Blake to get his meds to go to bed.

Hi Ian!!

This is your SC friend Blake.
I got mom to let me come and visit some of my friends while she was wrapping christmas presents for some of my cousins.
I sure hope you are having a good time getting ready for Christmas Day. Our last day of school for the christmas/winter break is this Thursday. It really does not count for me because my teacher will be coming some next week and the week before the new year. The kids go back to school her on January 7. That is a long time off!!! I sure hope it snows here so I can see my first White Christmas. We don't get snow much here on SC.
Well gotta go to bed. Please take care & have fun with your model car. Maybe you can send me a picture of it when you get it done. I love cars especially the old timey ones!!

Lets see if I can get it right this time. But I am getting a casdumbs and can't post something right. But Ian I am so sorry for you that it had to go and snow there in WA. I bet it was very upsetting for you to look out in the morning and see all that lousey cold white stuff all over. It probably would have been worse if you got so much snow that they had to close schools. Don't you just hate those days? Just kidding you know, I know you have just got to love snow. But as for you Matt; as you get older and the body starts to fall apart more you may learn to hate snow. Maybe it would be time for you to retire to Florida by then?? As for me when it snows I pray; I hope the snow keeps up" what I really want is for it to stay up there in he darn clouds.

Hey Ian,

I found a link from Jay's site and wanted to drop by and say, "HI". So, "HI".

I noticed your red hair and it reminds me of our children. They are 23 and 27 now. They both have a little red
in their hair-more when they were younger. Neither their mom or I have red hair, but it did appear in some
of the grandparents.

If I didn't get my wires crossed, I think you were mentioned as having gotten an 'ugly' message.
I want to share some of the same words I wrote to another young person who also received some ugly words.
It seems there are people trying to help Satan do his job! I guess they are miserable and want to share their
misery with others. But, for every brainless person acting that way, there are many, many more who are doing
their best to lift others up. Don't let the negative comments of one person affect who you are and
whose you are. Your character defines who you are. Your savior defines whose you are.
You keep on being the positive influence you are to so many. You have an incredible attitude!
God is on your side and nothing anyone says or does will even begin to matter!!

Thank you for being such an awesome young man who blesses us by the way that he lives.

In Christian love,
Mr. Wayne

I am glad you liked the patch and Kyles photo. I think our patch is cool, I love the colors. I hope things go well for you thins Spring and you can get to Michigan. But no matter when ever you go, I think we can drive over there and met you when the time comes. we want mo then ever to met our other friend that you all know name Dylan. But New York City is just so far away; maybe not as far as Australia, but I still can't just drive over there right away. When you come to Michigan you will only be about 4 hours from us. G'Day Ian,
First let me say a big THANK YOU to you and your scout group for what they are doing for my son Dylan. I to was a boy scout at your age many moons ago. The thing I liked most about scouts was going on camps and getting back to nature. Scouts can teach you alot about survival in the bush, but I think the most important thing I learnt was how to respect your fellow man. Cain (Dylans brother) said to say G'Day also. this is how we say hello in Australia. We also call friends mates. So next time you meet one of your friends, insteady of saying hello, you can say "G'Day mate". Anyways, Happy Thanksgiving. We hope you and your family have a great day.
Love your Aussie mates forever,
Tim and Cain Hartung.

Hi Ian !! I would like to congratulate you for knowing God as well, and for ministering others in a such a great way.
I also was sick, suffering an infection in the kidneys, doctors said i just was going to live until 5 years old.
My mother made a covenant with God, not being a christian, but in a very rare way i was healed.
Now, I am a healthy guy (21), so keep your encouragement in The Lord, trust in Him, and He will make great things for you.
Blessings.

It is good to see that you are finally getting to enjoy the things that most 10 yr. old boys like. It sounds like you have lots of fun. The scouts are really an awesome group.
You seem to be doing lots better since you changed schools & have an whole new peer group to play with.
Keep up the good work & we will keep up the prayers.
Matt & Della, we are also praying for you!! It is hard to sit back & constantly take care of a "sick" child & forget that you need lots of TLC. I am here to tell you that if you would like to have a friend to chat with, I am here to offer support & encouragement to help you feel better!! Just e-mail me & we can trade phone ###'s

I am so sorry too hear that your hamster died!Remember that your hamster is in heaven now where you will see your precious hamster again.
I really understand that you do not want too take your medicine.Neither do I want too take mine, but if I do not take them,I will get really sick and not be able too get out of the house and have fun,so I found that I better obey my mom and dad and take my medicine anyway.Swollow them really qick. Then you do not feel the taste so much.Do not keep them in your mouth while thinking:"Yyuuuuccckk!!"I used too do that, but found out that it was not such a good way too do it.You are in my prayers,Ian!

Hi Ian,
I understand about not wanting to take your medicine. I take eleven pills for breakfast, one for lunch, 4 at dinner time, and 2 at bedtime. I get tired of taking pills all the time, but I know they help me. I would be real sick without them, so I take the yucky ole things.
I have found the best way to take pills is to put them in my mouth, get a swallow of water, and swallow the water and pills as fast as I can. If your medicine is a liquid, swallow it quick and then get a bite of peanut butter or something. That will help get rid of the yucky taste.
Hope this helps you to get the medicine into your body, so it can make you feel better.

What relates me to you is I am having all kinds of stomach problems the doctors cannot find! We all have the obvious concerns and suspicions, but it sure would be good to not have a belly ache. Pray for me as I pray for you IAN,

Jay knows how hard it is he had a bad bully too. Everyday i would pray with Jay . I wanted Jay to see how God answers prayer maybe not when you want it but he always does. Jay said it would never happen to this kid but guess what. Jay kept praying every night and this boy the following yr. moved. So Ian i know you feel like running but dont stand your ground and pray because God loves you so much more than any of us and that is saying a lot because we sure do love you. So he will take care of you and show you at the same time he is on your side taking care of this. I hope to see you this summer. I love you lots little man . we will talk to you soon. Love uncle sean, auntie kim , jay and richie

Ian:

Hey there little man. How is the weather down there?? Yikes, heard about your incident on the playground. I know you have heard this a thousand times before, but hang in there. Thou that won't kill will make you stronger!!!! You have been through alot like your dad said but you are way on top of the mountain, higher than all the rest of those bullies in school. When you running for president or praising the lord in church.......you will be forever the high one. It's not easy....lord knows that. I experience it myself in school....shucks....I think all of us did in one point in our lives. Even adults go through it daily...believe me on this one...its called our " boss " at work :) Thankfully, you have strong, loving, caring parents. You sticking to your guns...shows great courage and character. It's about control and trying to see you buckle. Take it from me....I am a lawyer...I see it daily. Well...I wanted to check in on you. Hang in there my little man. Hugs and Kisses.

Ian,
I'm glad to meet you, even if it is online and not in person. I've heard some great things about you. Don't ever let your age stand in the way of doing great things for God. Remember David? God used him when he was not much older than you to kill a bad giant. I think Josiah was 8 when he became king of a nation. So, God can use you to spread His message.
Even though we don't know each other, I want you to know that you have blessed my life. You seem to have a super attitude and that will help you make it through some tough times.
I'm proud of you for having the courage to let others know that you are God's servant!

Keep lookin' up!

Love,
Mr. Wayne

Hi Ian, Hope you have a great memorial day. I don’t think we have anything planned; maybe we will grill some hotdogs or something. Sorry to hear the kids are being mean at school, sometimes that happened to Cheyenne also, we surely don't need that along with all our other concerns. The last time just a few kids were calling her cancer kid, and throwing balls at her, can’t even imagine, just a few, but it hurt her feelings big time. And I got angry, or I never would have mentioned it to the principle. He must have done something good, because the problem was corrected. We had also planned on taking her out of school the last few weeks, but didn’t have to, she even made one of them her friend by the end of the school year. Chey is now out of school for the summer. We plan on keeping her busy, or I guess she plans on keeping us busy. Anyway, it will be one great summer. God Bless your continued good health. We will include you in our prayers.
