The other night I was gazing at Alex as he slept and thinking how beautiful he is and how lucky I am to have him in my life. As I looked upon my boy, I realized that he has lost his little boy face. Gone is that toddler roundness and the little button nose. I almost bawled until I thought of how blessed we are that Alex is SEVEN and healthy and happy.

Alex’s school picture.

Speaking of birthdays, Alex had an amazing birthday party that he is still talking about! We had a birthday party at our house with 12 of Alex’s friends. After pizza and presents, we drove them all to take a train ride on the North Pole Express. This is a trip that is like the Polar Express. The kids wear their PJ’s on the heated train. There was hot chocolate and cookies and caroling and SANTA. We even saw the hobo! Then Santa gave each of us a bell. If you have seen the movie Polar Express, you know just what I am talking about. All of the kids were really well behaved and had a nice time. I think it will become a yearly tradition.

I cannot believe it but I am done with my wrapping. I have never, ever been done this early. I am so used to having finals in December and power-shopping and wrapping LOL. Last year, poor Carolee had to help me wrap since Scott had a broken arm. Things are certainly looking brighter for us all this year! I have a job that I really like. I am home more than I have been home in years. Scott has a secure job. Things are very bright for us indeed.

Carolee and Zack are getting married in October. Alex will be their ring bearer. He was not interested in it at first, but they got him a ring bearer book that tells all about what the ring bearer does and how important it is. He is really looking forward to it now! That sissy, she knows just what to do! The save the date cards just came in today and they are perfect! This is going to be a really exciting year!

My Spencer went to early admission day at Johnson State College and GOT ACCEPTED!!! We are so excited! Now, two of my babies will be going to Johnson. Spencer was SO nervous on the day of his interview. After he got accepted, we had to run over to the bookstore and buy him a Johnson sweatshirt, just like we did when Carolee got accepted there. Two kids in college. . . yup, things are bright!

Before I began to write this update, I clicked on the “read journal history” tab. I can barely believe it, but I have been updating this website for Alex for four years this month! Take a peek back at some of the pictures and you will see what I mean about what a big boy Alex is. He has worked so hard to get to where he is. He has been playing video games. Can you believe it? He has gotten his left hand to work better and better. Righty is still a huge challenge, but do not underestimate this boy! And his speech. . . just amazing. We are so very blessed.
Thank YOU for checking in on Alex and for praying for him. Thanks for your words of comfort and cheer on days when I was not feeling so blessed. It is because of our family and friends standing beside us that we have gotten to this point.
From our house to yours, have a wonderful Christmas!

Love, MaryBeth & Alex
