My Story

Zac has always been a fairly mild-mannered little boy. He was developing right on track when he was diagnosed with Infantile Spasms on December 18th, 2006 at the age of 5 months.

His last seizure was on February 27, 2007 and he has been seizure free since. Cause of the IS is still unknown.

Happy New Year!

Zac received the best Christmas gift of all. His LAST dosage of Vigabatrin. He's been drug free for almost two weeks now and still seizure free. Although he did catch a nasty flu which has since been passed onto Mom and Dad.

There's been quite a few other changes too for Zac. He's moved up to a "big boy" bed, and still learning to adjust. He's waking up more often in the night and can't fall asleep without Mom or Dad coming in to comfort him. Yawn.

He also started preschool this week, and so far is adjusting quite well. With preschool at five days a week, we've pulled him out of all his individual therapies (speech/OT/PT). He now only attends group therapy once a week at Abilities United.

And Zac is also preparing to welcome a new baby sister into the household, just one month away! We're all excited for her arrival.
