My Story

Zach,11 and Jaxsen,8 are brothers from Ga who both have a disease called Chronic Granulomatous Disease,CGD. Their white blood cells do not work at all, so their chance to get infection is high and when they do get one, it is hard for them to fight off. The wonderful news is that CGD can now be cured through bone marrow transplants.

I know, I know- it has been awhile but no news IS good news!  And I "see" most of you on facebook so you know what we have been up to.

For those who are not on Facebook yet- We all just returned from a nice vacation to the beach!!  It was soooo good to see the boys & Erynn having fun in the sun again- and to be with family for an entire week!

July 28, 2009 will be a year since we left our Durham home and what a difference a year makes- Zach's face is not nearly as swollen, he returned to school and received honors; Jaxsen, although he has had set backs, he also went right back to school and took up where he left off...socializing with ANY and EVERY person that would stop and listen, he is gaining a little weight; Erynn growing up waaay too fast and still showing the boys' who is boss...she is so independent, but she has had to be in so many ways- I have tried to take time to keep her mama's little girl this summer.

We are due back at Duke for checkups on July 14.  We will update then- but we wanted everyone to know all is well-

We are so thankful God has his hands all over us daily and that He is the great physician...bigger than any problem.   We ask that you remember our friend Rein in your prayers as he is struggling with some complications from BMT in Cincinatti...he is a tough little man with a tough family that knows the odds can be beaten- God bless.
