Hi everyone. Well I know that I always start these updates and say how busy we are. Its the same things now. We have been very busy. We have our foster daughter Shantell that has been with us since March and recently in the past weeks we have introduced her sister Cheyenne into our home. This has been a big adjustment for us. I hate to use Wylan's website to talk about things that are not related to him but I really feel deep in my heart that if it wasnt' for Wylan these girls would not be with us. He has taught us the tolerance that we need to take these girls into our home and show them a good life and be able to deal with their special needs.
Just to give a quick update for those of you that don't know us personally. After Wylan passed away we decided to get back into the foster care world that we were involved in before Wylan. With this we quickly got a referral for Shantell and welcomed her into our home. WIth a busy summer and lots of learning about what Reactive Attachment Disorder is we have all learned to function as a family. Then we got a call and were asked if we would like to take Shantell's sister into our home to keep the girls in a stable place together. Of course. So two weeks ago we welcomed Annie into our home. Shantell is four and Cheyenne is three. So you can see that we have been very busy. These are two very special little girls that we have grown to really Love. They come with their laundry list of issues that we learn to deal with on a day to day basis. Today was a very exciting day. The parents of the two girls voulentarily terminated their parental rights and so starting today we are on the road to adoption for these two special girls.
I was so excited and needed to share the news. I will keep you posted. Jen
