I now stand at, 3 of 6. So I am at the half way mark with chemo. I’ve been really tired but just relaxing and enjoy the beauty in everything around me. I’ve had check ups with both Dr. AJ (my general surgeon) and Dr. LaVan (my plastic surgeon) both of them say that I am healing wonderfully. They both have expressed how lucky I am that I found the tumors when I did, because I could have been facing unspeakable consequences. There are so many reasons to be thankful. My heart really goes out to all the wonderful people who have made my journey down this path much easier.

I have also seen a genealogist, who did a blood test to see if the reason I got breast cancer was genetic. The test came back negative, which is wonderful news my young cousins, but still leaves us with the question of what caused this…????

I must admit for someone who didn’t want to cut off the long hair, I feel pretty confident being bald.

I recently got the cutest little black curly dog and named him George Jasper Praska. He is a schnoodle (a cross between a schnauzer and a poodle). I love him so much and he has been so good for my recovery. He doesn’t see any of my new features as odd. Watching and teaching him about the world brightens everyday.

I have also become quite the cancer cutie….lol. I was on the local news in Lexington KY modeling some wigs for VDK. Then I was also on the front of the Paducah Sun and WPSD-TV in Paducah KY, for a fundraiser. The fundraiser was called “Dancing with the Stars” which raised $26,000 for the American Cancer Society. My dearest friend Lauren Case’s father, Dr. Case, danced in my honor. We shared the first dance which was for Cancer Survivors and their loved ones. It was a very touching tonight.

Now I have the itch to help in my own way. Together I have two wonderful friends Niah and Megan helping me plan an even called Boobalooza. More about this event later!
