The Hanson Family
It was Friday, March 25th and the men of SPP were setting up and getting ready to work a little show in Jackson, Mississippi when the Hanson boys (Speed, Jason and Jamie) began giving each other orders and some of Speeds "orders" and questions were more off the wall than normal. Wayne was talking to a friend and was telling him some of his symptons and his friend said that's exactly what happened to me when I had a stroke at that same time Jamie and Jason were saying discussing taking him to the doctor as well. After Wayne's phone call the boys said Dad we think you should go to the hospital and he agreed he needed to go to the ER. So Jason and Wayne hopped on his motorcycle and headed to the ER. After some tests they concluded that he had some swelling in the front left lobe of his brain. Wayne took the first flight out of Jacksonville to Knoxville where Patty took him straight to the emergency room at The University of Tennessee Medical Center. It was there they first discovered a lesion in his brain and scheduled surgery for Wednesday, March 30.
Well this will be my last post on here! We just wanted to thank everyone who came to Dad's funeral. We had an unbelievable turnout and it was nice to see all of you even those of you that I didn't get a chance to talk to. Dad would have been very happy with how it went. Dad really touched a lot of people and lives. Thanks to the BRO MC for all coming and RB for bringing all those old pictures of Dad. We all knew it was going to be a tough day to get through, but we did it and now Dad is in a better place. I know I sure miss him and can't believe he is gone, it just all seems like a bad dream.....and I keep waiting to wake up! I guess that will probably get better with time......at least I hope! Also want to say thank you to all of you that sent flowers, plants, etc.....that was really cool. Also thanks to everyone who called, emailed me, or text me that they could not make it, but still let us know they cared and gave us support on such a tough day! I know I am truly blessed to have had such an amazing father and even though he is gone.....I think I will still continue to learn something from him everyday. I really really miss you Pops and appreciate all the things you taught and did for me! I love you Dad and someday I will hopefully be joining you again in the after life!
