We would like to wish you all a Merry Christmas. It was impossible to go through Christmas day today and not reflect on the past 6 months and think about what happened and what could have happened. Today as we were together at the farm, we talked about people who visited, all the nice things people did for us, the injuries, the doctors, the journey, the recovery, and the future. We talked about how thankful we are that our dad is with us this Christmas and how Thankful we are for all of your support and prayers. The term "Christmas Miracle" is often used loosely, at least I know I do. In the past, a "Christmas Miracle" was getting to sleep past 6 a.m. before our kids woke us up. Or finding enough wrapping paper in the closet on Christmas Eve, frantically trying to get the last few presents ready. Or getting to one of the many family Christmasas on time. But this year, our "Christmas Miracle" is without a doubt having our dad here with us. The presents around the tree were fun to open and fun to give, but the fact that our dad was with us today, smiling, watching us open gifts and opening some himself, that was our Christmas Miracle. That's all we needed. That's all we wanted. Our Christmas Miracle came true because of the power of God and the love from all of you. So as another Christmas comes and goes, once again, Thank you so much for everything. I hope you had a day filled with meaning and love.
What did my dad do when he woke up this Christmas morning? He went outside and scooped snow. Something he has done countless times before. And it was a great thing. A great thing indeed.
