Welcome to Waseem's webpage. I (his mother) will be posting new information about his condition during his hospitalizations and days ahead.

We are very blessed to have such wonderful family and friends in our lives who love and care for Waseem. This website is dedicated to all of you.

Waseem's Journey

Waseem is a 3-year-old boy from Indiana who was diagnosed with stage IV neuroblastoma (cancer) on September 10, 2006. Since then, it was predicted that he would have to undergo 6 sessions of chemotherapy with stem cell harvest after the second session, then radiation and then a stem cell transplant.

The days leading up to the diagnosis were extremely hard on his body and spirit and they continue to be difficult, but there are times when we see glimpses of the healthy and happy Waseem on his good days. We will try to document his changing condition every day until his cancer is in remission, inshallah (God willing).

Asalaamoalaikum and Hello Everyone,

A couple of things...when I was reading the posts on the neuroblastoma list, I was panicked by a couple of things. The first one was the fact that a child can relapse without there being any noticeable symptoms and the relapse can happen in a place other than the primary site of the original tumor.

Another thing is, there is another child on the list that has relapsed. Her name is Katie. As a parent of a child who has had neuroblastoma, this is your worst nightmare come true. I pray Katie beats this beast again. I hate this damn disease so much!!! Please join me and pray for Katie and her family as well as all of the other families that have to deal with the beast.
