Dear Sydney I came to know your Mimi, my sister-in-law, in the latter parts of her life: after she married my brother. And these are some of the things I knew about her... She had a strong vision as to how things should look. Her sense of style permeated every area around her from her extensive wardrobe, to home decorating to the shrubs in the yard. All beautiful. She loved her family. She cherished all the members of her family and especially loved spending time with you. The year that you and your Mom lived with them in North Wilksboro was so important to her both for helping her recover medically and for helping to keep her spirits up. It was an honor for me to be a member of her family. I know firsthand just how supportive and loyal she could be. She had a great life with Michael Parsons. The life that they built together was a life few people get to experience. They would sit on their screen porch listening to Frank Sinatra, hand in hand. They would wander around stores looking for that certain something for their house, their Christmas tree or each other. They would sit for a time most days and work the crossword puzzle. Often, Michael had to work at night. It used to make me wonder at how after spending all the day together, everyday, Vikki could get irritated with this break. But she would have preferred Michael to be home with her. Or maybe just with her...wherever, whenever. They never seemed to tire of each others company. She wanted you to remember her. She wanted to insure your future had options. She wanted to know that she had a positive impact on your life. She made many many choices toward this purpose with the gifts she gave you to the number of times she 'FaceTimed' with you as just two examples. She knew you, Sydney, the inner you and her love for you was endless. You have a light inside you. Let it shine, girl. Your Mimi would want it that way!

Vikki will always be with us.  There is something of her in all of us that had the blessing of sharing our lives with her.  The great capacity of love of her daughter that she inherited from our mother, I can see in Kellie.  I see Kellie and Sydney have inherited Vikki's artistic talent and love of beauty.  Sydney definitely has Vikki's independent spirit and determination.  The best of me has definitely been influenced by my beautiful sister.  The one thing above all else that I want Sydney to get from her Mimi is the value she placed on family.   We pass through this life and have our ups and downs but if we keep our family close to our hearts, we will never be alone.  They are always there to lift us up when we need help and cheering us on when we fly. Love, Kim

Vikki, was one of the sweetest people you will ever meet.  She was very generous with her love and compassion for others.  Her personality made her a very easy person be around and to have a conversation with.  Her laugh was so genuine as was everything about Vikkie.  She was strong willed and was more than capable of taking up for herself.  It was obvious that she and Michael were madly in love and were soul mates.  Friends like Vikkie are not easy to come by, she will be greatly missed, and always in our hearts.  We loved her so very much!

Dear Precious Sydney, What a special angel your Mimi has become in heaven.  She was an angel here on earth as well.  She is the strongest bravest angel in heaven today!!!  She touched my life in so many beautiful ways.  I was sad once and she knew just what to say to make me feel so much better....always. Even on the days when she didn't feel well. She never failed to tell me that she loved me and that always felt sooooo good.  I can still feel her warm hugs and hear her sweet voice.  That is a true gift that she gave me.  I know that she loved you so very much.  I will always be in awe of her amazing grace.  You are a beautiful girl and are so blessed to have had such a precious Mimi...I love you always as I love her. Michael- Please know Scotty and I are praying for you. Vikki was such a beautiful, kind lady. The very definition of "Class" I've lived in Wilkes for 16 years now. 16 years +3 kids = MANY nights eating dinner out. It seems for years we would run into you guys EVERYWHERE. It got to the point to where we would say to each other "So...where are we going to eat tomorrow night?" You and Vikki watched my babies grow from little 2 year olds screaming "MiMIIIIIIIIIIIII" in public places, to becoming teenagers and barely mumbling "hi" when you spoke to them. One thing I will never forget is the way you guys always sat together at dinner. I know it's kind of crazy for me to notice these things; but here I am with my three toddlers (at the time), rushed and frazzled, and I look over and see you and Vikki all calm and relaxed. Sitting on the same side of the booth. Sharing the newspaper. Happy as two peas in a pod. I remember thinking "One day....ONE DAY that will be Scotty and I. We'll be able to sit that close and just enjoy each others company and just unwind...." As an innocent by-stander I witnessed between you two a love that many people never get to experience and only pray for. A love for each other that radiates true contentment and joy. It's obvious you were best friends and truly enjoyed each others company. To Sydney- my prayer for you is that one day you get to experience a love like your grandparents had. I pray you will find the perfect man who worships you and loves you unconditionally. Your soulmate. The one you want to sit on the same side of the booth and share a newspaper with. Love, April, Scotty, Autumn, Anslee and Addy

Dear Michael What a beautiful tribute to a beautiful lady. 17 years ago when Vikki came into our lives as your wife, the whole family was so happy because you had finally found the love of your life. Vikki fit into the Parsons family like a glove fits a hand. She was with you in all the Parsons occasions. We loved her as we love you. Although she is not now with you physically she will always be with you in your beautiful memories. And some day you will be together again in paradise. Love, Ida and Edfred

To Michael and everyone at Michaels Jeweler's, I want to extend my deepest sympathies for the loss of Vikki. She was such a special person and I am so saddened by her passing. She showed me so much kindness after my Mother had a debilitating stroke. In 2007 I went to Michael's to find my Mother a Mother's Day gift. She was in a rehab center recovering. I picked out a ring and was talking with Vikki about what my Mom had been through. Mom collected the little boxes that Michael's sold with the Sworovski crystals and Vikki knew how much she loved them. She gave me a beautiful little box with a hummingbird on top to take to Mom from her and Michael. Mom loved it and still treasures it. It was a much needed kindness from a warm and caring person. I loved talking with Vikki and I will miss her very much. She fought hard and is at peace now. My thoughts and prayers are with everyone at Michael's Jeweler's. Cheryle Mills

Michael, what a beautiful tribute to Vikki.  She certainly was a special human being and such a beautiful person.  I did not know her long but once acquainted it was a joy to see her eyes shine when we saw each other and she would wrap those arms around me and I knew I was loved.  Heaven has a wonderful angel and I feel protected still by those loving arms. Sydney, your Mimi will always be looking after you.  She loved you so much and you brought such joy to her.  You were fortunate to have such a special grandmother.  Someday when you are older and look back at all these wonderful tributes your Mimi received, you will be able to know that she was someone loved dearly by everyone who was fortunate enough to know her. My prayers are for healing for Vikki's family and for all of us who were her friends.  I look forward to the day I can think of Vikki and smile with a beautiful memory rather than the tug that is now on my heart.

It's hard to know where to start..... My sweet friend, and co-worker for the past 16 years. We have shared so many wonderful laughs and good times together. Your way with people is something I always admired, you could talk to anyone, listen endlessly and always with a smile. I miss you so much but your loving spirit will always be with me. When I think of you here are a few words I always think of....gracious, classy, beautiful, loving, respectful, talented and most of all strong. I feel blessed to have been able to share a part of your life and I am honored to call you my friend forever. Until we meet again..... Lisa

To my dear brother, I pray God will continue to wrap his comforting arms around you with friends and family.  I know what a loneliness you feel at the loss of your soul mate, and there is nothing I can do or say that will make it any better, but time has a way of turning this pain into loving memories that will warm your heart.  As I've told you before, we are not leaving her  behind, we will always carry her with us the rest of our lives. I am so blessed to have had her as my sister for 53 years.  She made everyone she met a better person, and this is so true for me.  "She walks in beauty", is so Vikki.,  so beautiful inside and out. I also feel blessed to have you, my dear brother.  You are such a good, loving man, and I know part of Vikki's strength came from your unyielding support and love.  I thank God that I was able to help Vikki and you in her final days.  I don't know where our lives' paths will take us, but I do know if we let God lead us, we can spend eternity together with Vikki in Heaven. Love you, Kim

Thank you Michael for sharing such an amazing tribute to the love of your life.  Vikki touched my heart in so many ways.  When I was dealing with my own grief of losing my Mother, you and Vikki opened your hearts and arms.  The words of encouragement that Vikki expressed while working with you both at the jewelry store helped me to heal.  She knew, she always knew.  A ray of sunshine who protected, comforted, and loved; Vikki Parsons is now a most beautiful and colorful rainbow.  Love and Peace Vikki.  Michael, the road ahead will be full of bumps but also laughter.  Vikki is always with you, as you stated in your final entry, until you meet again.   With much love,

My prayers are for healing for Vikki's family and for all of us who were her friends.  I look forward to the day I can think of Vikki and smile with a beautiful memory rather than the tug that is now on my heart.
