Time is a funny thing. It's difficult to believe that it's been almost 2 months since I've logged on to this site.

Dave is on his way to teach the jr/sr high kids at church tonight. He asked me to update you all of what's going on with us.

He's spent the bulk of the last 2 months regaining his strength and focus. It seems he lost more muscle than we realized.

Yesterday, he was able to get his chemo port removed (finally). I went in with him, it was done outpatient in the Dr.'s office. It wasn't as easy as we both anticipated it would be and were told it would be, but he got through it. A lot of scar tissue formed around it, so after a lot of pulling and tugging and snipping (I was there, it was much grosser in person trust me) the surgeon got it out. It bled quite a bit after we got home, but it looks like he's going to heal up just fine.

He got a letter from Dr. Puray releasing him back to work on January 26th. He's really excited to get back to it and his boss and company have been really great throughout this whole ordeal. We are so thankful that in this economy he has a job to return to. God is so good!

Our plan is to move next month. Life is going to be much different while we play catch up financially. Currently, we're looking at 2 bedroom apartments and praying that God will open up one we can afford in a decent neighborhood.

Once again, we'd like to thank all of you for your continued love, prayers, support and McDonald's gift cards (thank you cousin Judy)!

In the face of a storm, when everything is stripped away, it has been so comforting to know what we're left with is a circle of friends and family who have faithfully stuck by us.

This fight against cancer is far from being over. There are many that are still battling the beast. Please keep a man named Dan Kobold, his wife Becky and their family in your prayers, and our beloved Aunt Peggy! God is doing incredible things in those families too, and we just ask that you would join us in prayer for their peace, comfort and strength as they continue to press forward toward the prize. In fact, lets all do that with them!

Philippians 3:14
I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us.

Love,

Dave & Geri Simmons
