It has been a week since we got home from Seattle and I have been keeping everyone on their toes like always.
We brought a little puppy home for my sister for her birthday and she just loves her. It's a pocket puggle and she named it Annie. She gives me a challenge trying to keep up with her. She is full of energy, but cute.
It seems that things are going really good for me lately. I have been showing more improvement everyday. I have lots more smiles and I am communicating my wants, needs, and dislikes more than I have ever. I shake my head no with the words to go with it and it it meaningful when I don't want something. When it is yes it is clear as well. My "thank you" is coming out pretty clear as well. It is helping everyone have a good ability to communicate with me.
Friday I went to the lake with the family and really love the boat. It is lots of fun when dad splashes the sides with water. My sister is a fish and you cant seem to get her out of the water or off the tube. Saturday was Jasmine's birthday party with her friends at Splash Montana. I hung with my dad until right at the end. Then I got to play in the water for a little bit. They just had to make sure to keep my head dry. Sunday we did the lake again, but it rained. A good excuse to cuddle with mom really tight though.
Monday I went to see Dr. Day (pediatric neurosurgeon) so that he could do the wound check. It has been just a little over 2 weeks since the main surgery and we stopped to see him instead of going all the way to Seattle. It was a quick appointment. My head looks great and everything is healing nicely. You will not be able to tell to much once my hair grows in some. My mom likes the really short hair though. She says I look very cute. Now I will not need to see a doctor until we go back to Seattle July 16. Thank goodness for a break.
Just when we thought that, my sister got hurt yesterday. I was a little different to be at the hospital for someone other than me. She was at Splash Montana with her friends and got caught under the tube going down the water slide. When she came up she was having a hard time seeing and breathing. Our friend took her to the first aide room where they looked her over. She was scared and started thinking about what happened to me. She was tough though. Took her to the ER and had her checked out. The did a CT on her and some x-rays. I gave her kisses so she knew to be strong. I was a pro at it and it did not hurt. She did great. They sent her home and said she had a mild head injury and to watch her closely and a bruise on her chest. Figured mom and dad knew had to watch over her with all the practice they had with me. She ate a big dinner and was then bouncing off the walls. We had to make her rest.
Well thats it for all the excitement going on around here. Remember things can happen in a blink of an eye. Be sure to hug and kiss your loved ones. Anything can happen at any given time. Plus I want everyone to remember this quote:
"There comes a time in life when you have to let go of all the pointless drama & the people that create it & surround yourself with people who make you laugh so hard that you forget the bad and focus solely on the good. After all, life is to short to be anything but happy."
Everyday things happen in our lives. It just depends on how we handle it. If we stay positive then it seems that we can get through almost anything.
