Tyler Froats's Journal

It’s been a good week. His two Pulmonary doctors have set up a treatment plan that has shown improvement. As far as DC goes, we’re in a wait and see right now. We’ll see how this treatment works out for the next two months and if need be, try an immune suppress treatment for GvH. The doctor said he does have receint damage to the lungs. We’re not sure from what but he is optimistic about Ty’s condition. There was no change in his last MRI vs. the previous one so that’s good and his breathing has improved. He can finish a sentence now without stopping to gasp for air. When he has an attack, the duration is shorter and not as severe. Ty’s spirits are up since he can actually get around easier now without fighting for air. GOD is good people - no matter what. It’s easy to give thanks when times are good but can you praise him when things don’t look so promising? Change your prospective. Look at life and situations from His perspective and you gain wisdom and understanding. Life is not about me or you or Tyler. It’s about mankind and the most awesome offering given to us - salvation. An awesome and mighty GOD so greatly humbled Himself to become one of us that He could give Himself for us that we might have hope. Remember that this Christmas season. The most precious gift was sent to us that we might live.

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving. It’s been a while since I’ve last posted but I’ve been waiting for things to transpire. Ty will be meeting with doctors tomorrow to talk about the possibility of going to DC for treatment. Don’t know all the details yet but we’ll keep you informed as we know. He is also scheduled to meet with a specialist in Cleveland on Friday. It looks like we’ll have some news to share with you this weekend.
Ty had his oxygen generator and portable unit delivered today. It does help him when he’s walking around or trying to help out or going up/down the stairs. Hopefully it will help him sleep better. We’ll find out in the morning.
That’s all for now. We’ll update you later this week as to how the visits went and what came about from them.

Ty’s breathing has been on the decline. He’s out of breath just walking a short way. I don’t want you to get the idea that he’s incapacitated or anything that drastic but he’s winded just talking to you.
I’ve been sitting here talking with Ty about a few things tonight and we were focusing on 2 Cor. 12:8-10. Having gladness in our weaknesses, for when I am weak He is strong. Not a weakness as in sin but as in hardships and difficulties. We are not at the point as were the Apostle Paul has been in boasting gladly or taking pleasure, Ty, as I, are at least able to find comfort in these things. For we have seen the wonderful work of His majestic hand through the heartache, pain and suffering that we’ve been through individually and as a family. Talking it out with each other has helped move us closer to the goal. Karen and I talked a bit about this same subject the other night. We all may not have achieved perfection in it but we most definitely grew closer together.
How about you? Have you sat down with your husband/wife or kids and taken a verse to discuss how it applies to your lives? Try it. You will all be glad you did.
