Hello Everyone,
It has been awhile. I wanted to update everyone on Tuckers condition/life. A lot has transpired since my last journal entry. Since April of 08 Tucker has been preparing for his mission with all the things he is in control of. His dental, vision, and mission papers are as complete as possibly could be to this point. We have been waiting on signed off papers from the doctors to release him to serve a mission for 2years. 2 months ago they were ready to do that when a result of the latest MRI came back showing a inlarged Thymus Gland. The location of your Thymus is behind your heart. Due to the location a biopsy would be difficult & invasive, so our other option would be to wait 6-8 weeks, have another MRI and see if a chang occurs from the last one. We oppted to go with the 6-8 week wait. We had the 2nd MRI last Thursday and just received Awesome!, Awesome!, Awesome! (As Tuck put it in his text) news today. The Thymus Gland is un-changed. So you all know what that means...Onward ever Onward Elder McElhaney! What a joyful feeling! This was a tough nut to get out there but, it looks like he is really going.
We finally made it back (at least to the day shift) to say hello to our dear wonderful nurses at the Hemonc Unit at Banner Desert. That was a long time comming and very emotionaly healing. Tucker loves those nurses so much!
We have also moved to Gilbert this past week. This was very sad but we will take a lot of memories and carry them with us always. So many good, wonderful people that help carry Tuck and his family so many, many hard times. Queen Creek People, you are the BEST!
So life continues to move on, sometimes we wish it could just stop or slow down for awhile but, it doesn't and it shouldn't. There are too many opportunities and experiecnces we all need to walk through.
Thank you all again, and we hope to see you at London's Run Jan 31st.
