Dear Erwin Family,
I followed Trey's treatment and story on CaringBridge and was saddened so much when he passed away. I know you miss him every day, but what a difference his young life made in the lives of so many others. You have so much of him to remember and your whole family should be so proud of him and all he stood for in this life.

In Christian love,
Barbara Rous

Hello Erwin Family,

Last year we remember seeing the story of your son, Trey Erwin on the news.  We were praying for Trey and your family.  Yesterday, we seen your story again on TV.  I started reading your blog and have been praying for your family.

I can relate to Trey having cancer as Oct. 1, 2012, I was DX with Stage 4 aggressive advance prostate cancer.  Only treatment that is available for me is HT as it's to late for surgery and not given but a few years to live.  My heart goes out to your family and will continue praying for you guys everyday.

I respect your faith in God and like my wife and I, it's in God's hands and whatever his will is, I'll except his will.  In the next few days, I'll finish reading your blog.

I worked at St. Jude from 2000-2011 and it's really is the best in the world.

God bless your family,

Dave and Dorothy Glasgow

I was browsing through the web for a film company called Erwin Brothers and ran into Trey's twitter account. I noticed most of his tweets were bible verses so I started reading them and saw a picture of him with a hospital bracelet and the comments said 'RIP'. I broke down crying. I don't know who he is but I've just spent the past few hours reading the journal and it has truly touched me. I know it was God who has led me to this page.
Thank you for sharing your story. I just wanted to let you know that Trey's story is still having an impact on people  and inspiring them and I pray that it will continue doing so. I pray that God shower this family with blessings and give them strength. Trey is now worshiping our Heavenly Father at his feet and rejoicing in Heaven. He has no more pain, no more tears, no more worries. He is happy. We're the ones left with trials.

I just want to let Trey's mom and dad know how much I have been touched by Trey's story.  My son Zach played @ the Pray for Trey Benefit @ Collierville football field, he was the drummer in the Christian Rock Band called the Jeff Maxwell Band.  It was a blessing for my family to be there even though Trey hadn't gotten there yet to see them play, but we did get to met Trey and his mom Susan.  I rememberd that Susan told us that the reason he arrived late was because of the heat, that he couldn't be in the heat for long, but that was okay we thought of him the whole time the band was playing and realizing how lucky we are to be healthy, and how Trey wasn't.  I will continue to pray for the family, and I'm so glad that my family got to met Trey.

God Bless!!

I did not Trey Erwin personally, but I had many friends who loved and knew Trey.  I was out of town the day Trey joined the Lord.  I was browsing through twitter when I heard the news. I fell to my knees and wept for several minutes.  Trey has inspired me to live out my faith every day, and I know that he is watching us from heaven right now.  I am praying you family as you walk down this seemingly lonely road. Thank you for sharing your story with the world.

I was reading the last few entries in the guestbook. I have been following Trey's and your family's story for awhile. I happened to look up and see how many times his caring bridge site has been visited. 787,000 times...pretty much close to 1 million times....that's really hard to wrap your brain around that his site has been visited that many times. However, with all these visits, just think about the many people who cared and prayed for your family. His journey and your family's journey had an impact in some way or another on MANY lives. Now people will follow your blog and be blessed and changed for many more years. I didn't know y'all personally, but I know people who did. God bless you and your family and for sharing the hardest thing I'm sure you will endure this side of heaven. Thanks again for sharing!

Sincerely,

Hello, i am a friend of Jerry and Susan Davis. They had told me about Trey when he was going through his illness. I am SO very sorry that he did not make it here on this earth, but we know that he is rejoicing with our Lord and would never want to come back to this place. It is our hope as believers that we will one day see them again! I will continue to pray for you continuously every time your family comes to my mind.

I would ask that you would check out my husbands Caringbridge site. His name is StephenWhitney and i would hope that you would pray for us too. He has been sick off and on for over 10 years with several different kinds of cancer.

Thank you ahead of time, and God Bless you!
Love and Grace to you,

Trey will always be an example to me!  Recently when asked at CBS (Community Bible Study in Collierville) what I wanted to obtain from the course I answered, "To walk with the Lord as closely as Trey Erwin did and to have his kind of faith!"  I am a Christian and have been for many years but my relationship with the Lord is not as close as the one he had with Trey.  I will continue to strive to have that close of a relationship with the Lord! God bless the Erwin's including Trey who was really an Angel on Earth.

Dear Erwin Family,

I do not know your family.  I heard about Trey from my family who lives there in Memphis.  I have followed Trey's adventure by reading the journal posts.  I have prayed often.  I had added Trey to many prayer lists.  I would grab my box of Kleenex then read several posts all at once. I was amazed that I would be lifted up when reading about your devout faith. I was truly inspired by your words.  When I read of Trey's going home to be with our Lord my heart ached but I knew that he suffered no more.  I knew that he was truly a vessel for Christ.

I think about your family often.  I pray for your comfort and your strength.

May God continue to hold you up until you are once again reunited with Trey.

I was inspired by Trey's faith from the beginning of his journey when he said that he would be healed here on  earth or in heaven.  I could tell then that he was one special young man.  And had been raised by some amazing parents. I followed his journey thorughout and cried at his passing into the hands of Jesus. Both tears of joy and sadness, joy for him because he had won and sadness for the ones left behind without him. You raised an amaizing young man that inspired many in his short span here on earth.  I never met him but I felt as if I did through this site. Thank you for sharing Trey with us here on CB.
