Dearest Friends & Family,
I have been waiting 7 long months for the chance to share this....Dad is coming home TODAY! There were many times I wondered if we'd even be able to write it and having to make phone calls instead.
Dad can now: walk w/o a cane (slowly) and keep his balance. He uses his cane for "insurance" and it will surely help this winter. He can go down the basement steps so he should be to go anywhere in the house. His arm and chest have healed well and he has good mobility. Physical therapy will continue on a outpatient basis to keep things mobile and body strong. Work with his prosthesis is going well. It's heavier than Dad expected but he wants to use it as much as he can so he's working hard.
Mom & Chelsea are happy to have "the master"(Mom's nickname for him) coming home to help with all the misc. things he took care of and he's happy to have "real food" again. LOL
Missy and I are breathing a sigh of relief now that things are starting to normalize as much as they can. Dale & Missy have been doing most of the running/problem solving/fixing bless their hearts. We are blessed that Dale's work schedule allows him to stop by the house and check on things.
Thank you Team Tom for your prayers, help, and support. We couldn't have done this for the past months without you. Please keep praying during this transition and for Mom. She has good days and really tough days and Mis and I are hoping that with Dad home there will be more good days.
One last thing - If you have a fave picture of you and either or both of Mom and Dad. Stories are welcome too! I know you all have great dirt on Dad! Please email or send a copy to me or Mis. Mis and I (I know this is a surprise for you Qweep! Yes, you still looooove your big sister.teehee) would like to put together a scrapbook for them for Christmas. Please pass the word on to others too. I'm hoping this will help Mom in the future. She is slowly forgetting more and more each day; please send pics ASAP. Here's my email and address and Missy's.
